Budgeting Process

At the Annual Meeting held in June of each year, the members of First Parish vote a budget for the coming fiscal year (July through June).  Under the guidance of the Senior Minister, the staff prepare a draft budget for review by the Standing Committee.  As per the church’s finance policies, “The budget should reflect the priorities of the Congregation, staff, and Standing Committee. The projections for income and expenses should reflect a prudent approach to our financial conditions.”  The Standing Committee holds budget information and listening sessions in April and May and then reviews and votes to recommend a budget for approval by members at the Annual Meeting.


The Standing Committee held a Budget Information Session on April 30, 2023.  A copy of the slides may be found here. A second Budget Information Session was held Sunday, May 21, 2023.  A final draft of the budget was reviewed and discussed at that meeting. A copy of the slides may be found here.
