Red Sox Tickets Letter

Below is the fifth in a series of letters to First Parish from some interesting “personalities” about this year’s pledge campaign and appearing as inserts in the Sunday order of service. This one is from March 17. All are posted on: firstparish.org/campaign.

Hey—

Will it be you? Or him? I can’t wait to see who’s going to Fenway Park with me!

I just found out I’m up as a raffle prize and I’ll be taking two lucky winners to see the Red Sox play against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, April 28th. (We can squeeze in church that day, too.) We get another chance to show the Rays who’s the top of the league after they bested us last August.

How do you win me? Simply pledge, which I know you were going to do anyway, and attend the free all-church Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, March 23 to enter the raffle. I hear there will be First Parish Celebrity Chefs flipping pancakes to feed parishioners from 8 AM to 11 AM. Bring the whole family!

In all fairness, I’m not the only goody in the Reach High, Reach Wide Prize Raffle. You could also win tickets to a performance of Miss Saigon in Boston or The Band’s Visitin Providence or a $50 gift certificate to the Concord Bookshop. Children get tickets to another raffle to win decorated beach balls. Wow, there’s all sorts of earthly and spiritual rewards for pledging at First Parish.

Once you win my tickets, we’ll sing out, Root, Root, Root for the home team. If they don’t win, it’s a shame because it’s one, two three strikes you’re out for the old ballgame.

Come harmonize with me at the Pledgers Pancake Breakfast at First Parish. You can also pledge at the breakfast for the 2019-2020 Pledge Campaign as only lucky pledging attendees win me!

Rooting for you,
Red Sox Tickets
